Washington, DC – January 15, 2016 –  Over 200 proton therapy experts will attend the 2016 National Proton Conference (NPC) January 19-22 at The Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana while many others will attend simultaneously via Live Streaming.  This is the first time the National Association for Proton Therapy (NAPT) will offer both in-person and live streaming to attendees who include physicians, nurses, physicists, dosimetrists, therapists, and proton center directors and managers.

“This is the first year for the NPC at a new location and we are very excited to be hosting the meeting in New Orleans.  The live broadcast is also great new option.  We are very pleased to offer the new venue and virtual meeting option and look forward to a fantastic conference,” said Todd Ketch, Executive Director of NAPT.

Sessions examining a wide variety of proton therapy topics will be provided by over 30 speakers, with featured Keynote Addresses by Dr. Stephen Hahn of the MD Anderson Cancer Center and Wendell Potter of the Center for Public Integrity.  Other sessions during the conference will cover: Legislative and Regulatory Efforts on Proton Therapy; Overview of a Consortium Model Approach; Coding, Coverage and Payment; Access to Care:  The Patient Legal Advocate’s Perspective; Development in Proton Therapy Research; Clinical & Technological Advances in Proton Therapy; Proton Therapy:  A Global Perspective; Mobilizing the Patient Community; Revenue Cycle Best Practices; Operational Best Practices; Access to Proton Beam Therapy; and an Overview of the 2015 Published Proton Therapy Evidence.
